ENERGY. Having a full time job and an autoimmune disease (well, two, but they tend to come and go together), sometimes I just can't write.
And other times, I might be able to push through, but I'm not sure, so I try, and either it works (yay!) or it fails miserably and I fall into a total slump.
Precarious energy levels mean I'm also vulnerable to random changes -- like, when I broke my foot in late March, simply getting around was so draining that I did very little writing. (Or, in fact, very little of my actual job, either.)
